EFT and Financial Therapy

Financial therapy theories are relatively under explored as Financial Therapy: Theory, Research, and Practice (2014), remains the only book dedicated to the exploration of financial therapy theory to date. This paper aims to increase theoretical application of Emotionally-Focused Therapy, a well researched model, in financial therapy. Specifically, this paper covers the 9 step framework by Sue Johnson and how each step would be applied in a couples financial therapy setting. Example questions and interventions will be discussed. We will also delve into implications for practice in both financial and therapeutic settings.
