Awards

The Financial Therapy Association (FTA) has an ongoing effort to promote the advancement of the discipline of financial therapy. The FTA is an organization comprised of professionals dedicated to the integration of cognitive, emotional, behavioral, relational, and financial aspects of well-being. To that end, the FTA would like to recognize those individuals that demonstrate exceptional advancement to the discipline in the areas of practice, research, teaching, and community outreach.

About FTA Awards

  • The Financial Therapy Association’s Outstanding Practitioner Awardrecognizes a mental health, financial, and/or financial therapy practitioner for their contributions to the practice in the discipline of financial therapy. The nominee should demonstrate significant contributions to promoting financial well-being with and within their clients. The nominee should also adhere to the FTA’s Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.
  • The Financial Therapy Association’s Outstanding Researcher Awardrecognizes a scholar for their contribution in the discipline of financial therapy through empirical research and peer-reviewed journal articles. The nominee should demonstrate how their research interests, projects, and publications contribute to the overall discipline of financial therapy.
  • The Financial Therapy Association’s Outstanding Instructor Award recognizes an academic instructor at any level (e.g., graduate, undergraduate, high school, and/or grade school) for their contribution in teaching in the areas of mental health, financial advising, and/or financial therapy. Nominations should demonstrate excellence in promoting financial well-being with their students in and outside the classroom setting. Nominations are encouraged to include student reviews, innovative teaching methodology, and/or pedagogy.
  • The Financial Therapy Association’s Outstanding Community Outreach Leader Award recognizes the contribution of the nominee that promotes the discipline of financial therapy through service in the community. Nominees may promote financial well-being through extension services, community centers, non-profit organizations and associations, political office, and/or any other service that seeks to fulfil the goals of the FTA.
 
The deadline to submit Outstanding Award Nominations is March 15, 2024.
