About

I have been practicing as an Accredited Financial Counselor® since 2011, helping individuals, veterans, and families improve their daily money management process, eliminate debt, and plan for their financial future and 24 years of marriage and family therapy services in the mental health field. I am currently a licensed Financial Advisor, assisting clients with their investment management and a fee-only coach to clients focused on debt management and retirement and financial planning. I attended East Tennessee State University and obtained my Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Maryland. I hold professional certifications as a Clinical Fellow in the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), as an Accredited Financial Counselor® with the Association for Financial Counseling, Planning, and Education (AFCPE), and am a member of the Financial Therapy Association. I am a retired US Army Officer (MAJ, Ret), having served 24 years in the Military Intelligence and Personnel and Human Resources corps. I live in Charlottesville, VA and have two children; Sarah, with a passion for Social Injustice Non-Profit work and Jacob, a local farmer that completed Virginia Tech’s agri-business certificate program.
