About
If you are 50+ and believe there is benefit in working with a therapist who has lived experience that tracks with yours, then please consider me as a possible resource. Some areas where I can help include: planning for and managing retirement; supporting adult children and aging parents; and managing investments and associated financial anxiety. I have been there, and I will be there for you.
My backstory: I earned a master’s degree in social work in 1981, then spent almost 40 years working in the IT business before retiring in 2018. Six months ago, at age 71, I decided to pursue establishing this practice.
At the start of my career, I spent 8 years working in a variety of community mental health programs, including older adult support services and emergency mental health services. More recently, I volunteer as as a trained facilitator in a community-based Restorative Justice program. I have worked in this program for over 15 years. I also have extensive experience working with nonprofits on business and financial issues as a pro bono consultant and board member.
At this point in my life, my goal is to use my training and experience to help individuals and small businesses that are facing the same challenges I've had to confront. I don't have answers but I believe I can be a good resource for providing a safe space to explore the questions. I firmly believe that as we work together to uncover the questions, you will find the answers.
